Children are given three rules to follow here:

Respect ones self
Respect others
Respect their property

At Bright Beginnings, we provide your child with a "home away from home" setting in hopes that your child will feel relaxed and content in his/her surroundings. Each child is personally greeted when they arrive and leave the center, making them feel special. With our low ratios, we are able to provide individual attention along with a small group social setting.

Overall Enrollment
We strive to keep the overall daily enrollment at approximately 75% of our total capacity. This provides your child with plenty of physical space, which we feel is important in the overall development of your child.

Associations
Bright Beginnings, Inc. is a proud and supportive member of the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce.

Bright Beginnings Owner and Administrators are members of the National Association of Education for Young Children. Although we support the organization itself, for a variety of reasons we do not wish to seek accreditation. For more details, you may contact Robin Ferguson or a director.

Your child's day will include a variety of hands on activities, which may include: clay projects, cooking, nature walks, science experiments and more.

They may learn sign language, a foreign language and use their imagination while dictating a story about their picture.

Our large motor music room and covered back porch give the children areas to go even in inclement weather. We also provide a piano for children to play on and learn about music.

Our child-sized library allows children to explore many different books, books on tape, and a computer at their own pace.

We also incorporate projects that may take a week to one month so that they may see the progress and learn the sequence of events.

Your child may explore wood working at our child-sized wood working area. They may saw, nail, and learn about different types of wood (all with supervision).

Located on almost 5 acres with a stream, we have ample opportunity to explore nature, garden and picnic in the field.

Rooms are decorated to provide a relaxing, yet fun environment for your child to spend their day. Live plants and animals will be found throughout the center. Classes rotate (with their teacher) throughout the center every 30-45 minutes, providing children with a change of toys, activities and scenery.

Holiday Show and Spring Show

Every year Bright Beginnings staff and children participate in an annual holiday and spring show held at Main Elementary auditorium in Beavercreek. The children put on skits, act out stories, recite poems and sing songs using sign language and Spanish. All family and friends are invited to watch these amazing performances.

The Holiday Show always falls in December with a Christmas/Holiday theme and the Spring Show is in May with themes about spring, school and even a circus. Dates vary each year based on availability of the auditorium.

The teachers and children spend a lot of time and creativity towards all our shows. They come up with their own costumes, lines and songs in preparation for the big nights.

On the nights of the Holiday and Spring Show the center will close at 5:30 p.m. to ensure everyone enough time to prepare for the shows.

Special Events

Every school year, Bright Beginnings participates in many special events. The Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten visit various places throughout the year; including trips to Boonshoft, Science Museum, Bonnybrook, Young’s Dairy Farm, Heartland Nursing Home, Dayton Art Museum, Victoria Theater, and many more. Bright Beginnings also hosts many parties and special days such as: Beach Day (with an indoor wading pool and sandbox), Pancake Breakfast Day, Grandparent’s Day, a Harvest Party, a New Years Party, a Valentine’s Day Dance, and Kite Flying Day. We also have many speakers and entertainers that come to Bright Beginnings from all over the Miami Valley to teach and introduce the children to new and exciting things. We have yearly visits from the local fire and police departments, the Reptile Lady, the Guitar man, Tommy the Toothbrush, doctors, and nutritionists.

During the summer Bright Beginnings participates in extra special events. All the children, including the School Age get to take part in the fun activities that summer brings. The Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten go on field trips that include miniature golfing, the Air Force museum, trips to the local parks, bowling, and the IMAX theater. The school age children visit the Cincinnati Zoo, the Newport Aquarium, Splash Moraine, a local doctor’s office, Carillon Park, and many other fun and educational places. When the children are at Bright Beginnings during the summer everyone takes great advantage of our five acres of land and our air-conditioned facility. The children go on nature walks, wade in the creek, create forts, play kick ball in the field, and swim in our multiple miniature wading pools.

At the beginning of the summer and the school year the parents are given a list of the field trips and guest speakers that will take place over that specific course of time. Parents are to read through the material and decide whether or not they want their child/children to attend these special events and pay proper fees.

Bright Beginnings may change times and dates of special events at any time due to weather, speaker cancellation, availability, and attendance.

Field Trips and Guest Speaker Policy / Forms

At the beginning of the new school year each family will be given a list of field trips and guest speakers. Parents are to read through the checklist and decide whether or not they want their child/children to attend each special event. Payment for these speakers / field trips is also due in advance.

After deciding which special events your children will participate in you must fill out the permission slips and pay the proper fees. Permission slips must be filled out and fees must be paid before children can attend. Bright Beginnings cannot let children attend whose parents have not given written permission.

If your child is four years of age and 40 lbs. then you do not need to supply a car seat. If your child is under the age four and under 40lb. and does not bring a car seat your child/children cannot attend the field trip and no refund will be given.

Bright Beginnings may change times and dates of special events at any time due to weather, speaker cancellation, availability, and attendance. If an event is cancelled by Bright Beginnings and not rescheduled an adjustment or refund will be given to those families who have paid. If a child does not attend an event because of a vacation, illness, or late arrival no refund will be given.

Part-time families, who want their child/children to attend a field trip, guest speaker, or special event held at Bright Beginnings on a day they are not scheduled to be at the center, must ask the office if they can participate in the event prior to the date. Bright Beginnings may not grant every request; it simply depends on staff, transportation, and ratios. Fees will be charged to part-time families who bring children to additional special events. If no notice is given to the office and children are brought on days they are not scheduled additional fees can be added on top of extra day fees. Bright Beginnings takes pride in our low ratios and this helps ensure that all the families receive the quality education, care, fun, and love that we are known for providing.
